Arcade Games

Arcade Gamesis a party, buddy builder, quest conqueror and nostalgia hit rolled into one. All our installations are unique and designed to do one thing; bring people of all ages together through the universal language of play. Using digital and analog games that are all simple to pick up and play our work has been shown in places such as the V&A Museum, Bristol Old Vic, Birmingham Library and Weddings, Festivals and Corporate Events around the UK and Europe.
Using video games, custom built retro arcade games, analog installations using the latest technologies, simple and creative physical games designed by game makers around the world we guarantee that we will get people laughing, interacting and making new friends. You won't find the games we show, the presentation or the creativity in any other company. Everything we make is handmade in our workshop in Frome, Somerset and we carefully curate our games through our large network of curators and event makers. All of our installations are designed to be easy to pick up and play and perfect to play with others.
Whether you want a couple of installations spread out, a large area or huge projected games with comedy commentators we can go to any scale. We can curate our games around your theme, customise our installations, animate dead spaces or create access points with our virtual reality hardware for people to conquer their fears of heights or pretend they're in the matrix.
Everything we build is not just fun to play but fun to watch people play.
We are also the first to offer and build custom games and arcade machines specifically for your event. Tell your companies/wedding/events story through your own game. Featuring characters from your companies/wedding/events. We will work with you to make the game and provide it as a free download for all guests or in the form of a physical copy of the game given out as gifts. Want to tell some comedic and legendary stories from around the office that people can play? Want to give your staff the chance to be the boss for a moment? Want to make a who wants to be a millionaire style quiz people can play? The game's contents are limited only by your imagination.
The machine itself is a bespoke arcade machine created in partnership with you. We've created games for weddings where you have to get the ring to the bride and games for birthdays which feature friends as animated pixel characters and tells a story as you play.
Our installations can be set up anywhere as long as there is power and it's dry. They are easy to turn off and on during the event if you want periods where people focus on speeches etc. We can put them up for an hour, a day or a month (all of which we've done).

Arcade Games was an absolute hit for two years running here at the Eden Project. They were able to animate the space and create a really playful and social atmosphere. Bringing together people of all ages to share in different games.

Polly Randle, Eden Project

Having a playful installation like this at an event really gets people chatting. With Mike and co's ethos of everything being simple to pick up and play we had a wide range of people laughing and challenging each other throughout the night. The installations are like little playful icebreakers that create a real sense of togetherness at an event. Would highly recommend to any event organisers out there looking for something special.

Birmingham Public Library Event Team

I've never seen such a large group of people spend so long supporting a team of 8 people trying to complete a level on a simple computer game. The roar of cheering when completed reminded me of a football match. This is one of those rare creations that seems timeless but completely fresh at the same time.

Marie Foulston, V&A Museum.

We hosted the arcade in it's own marquee by the river for a weekend as a part of the Lost Weekend festival. It was packed from open till close. The arcade itself is a mix of retro nostalgia with new technology and a welcoming aesthetic. It's clear how much work and detail Mike and his team have put into the build of everything. Often when using technology at events it can look messy with wires and screens. Cardboard Arcades way of making customisable enclosures for all these installations really bring a quality and personal feel to the installations.

Lost Weekend Festival, Exeter

We got a custom game for our wedding featuring our daughter, cat and the setting in which we got engaged. The machine was a hit and a talking piece of the wedding. We're really chuffed to have been one of the first to have booked this and working with Mike and his team was extremely smooth and fun. I'd recommend to any wedding or event that wants something unique and universal.

Jonny and Jade, Wedding 2018.

We had a couple of installations from these guys for two months as a part of our play exhibition during the Summer. Mike and his team were able to create a bespoke installation for us for the event that went down brilliantly alongside his always popular cardboard arcade machines. He left us brilliant instructions that meant we only needed one phone call over the two months to figure something out. It was a hit at the exhibition and got people really engaged in what we were doing.
