ABOUT ME

I am a highly experienced multi-instrumentalist who, for various acts, performs on Fiddle (Violin), Flutes (simple system and Boehm system flutes), Whistle, Piano, Recorders ... and sometimes a wee bit of Backing Vocals or Guitar too! I moved over to GB from Ireland, where I was privileged to play in sessions alongside many of the very best in Irish music

Performances have included a wide variety of functions / venues including 5* Hotels; both in Britain and abroad. I featured along with my current Duo partner on BBC Radio, TV and in Play Magazine. I can be heard performing [Fiddle, Flute and lowest vocals] on Gaudete (16th century Christmas carol) with Fiona’s Legend. This recording is on the BBC national Christmas playlist, was 'Record of the Week' on 3 BBC Regional Radio Stations and was also featured on BBC TV. It is available on YouTube, along with other videos including myself and/or my Duo partner

I regularly perform for Weddings, Birthdays, Irish Events, Funerals / Wakes, Private Dinners, Garden Parties etc. The Fiddles used are electro-acoustic and an electric fiddle (usually for Rock / Contemporary). Both are 5 string instruments (additionally have the low C string of the Viola). I use a variety of pedals / effects - one of which enables me to sound more like a 'Cello or Double Bass! :)

My Duo partner is a professional internationally experienced singer who has sung all over the world e.g. the Royal Palace of Abu Dhabi, and was a lead singer Riverdance and Lord of The Dance. She was previously reviewed by Classic FM as an ‘exceptional young talent’ and has sung live on national TV & radio (BBC One, ITV, Fox TV in the USA, RTE in Ireland, BBC Scotland, Classic FM, Lyric FM Ireland, BBC Radio (2 and 4). She has performed for many top Corporate clients at 5* venues, including the Savoy Hotel, London and the Guinness Brewery, Dublin. We have limited availability at present but I can potentially be booked as a Duo too

BACKING TRACKS:

Pro quality backing tracks are used for the performances - most of these, custom made or custom edited. These include standard versions in addition to beautiful, unusual versions of well known songs / melodies

Solo, instrumental versions of songs to backing tracks
a) 5 string fiddle / violin (like violin / viola in one) with effects pedals including octave pedals so can sound like Cello / String Bass, and can play in 1, 2 or 3 octaves for a fuller sound)
b) Flute - Irish 6 key Flute (Black bodied sort not silver Orchestral flute)
c) Whistles (tin / celtic whistles in various keys)
d) occasionally Treble Recorder (can suit hymns, christmas carols etc)

PA is BOSE L1 1S B1, Mackie Pro DX4 Digital Mixer or Allen & Heath Zed10FX mixer, iPad Air 2, Shure Beta 58A and Rode M3 microphones, LR Baggs Venue DI / Pre-Amp, various Effects Pedals / Units.
I built 2 small black platforms on lockable wheels to exact size. These allow me to easily change position / angle of equipment, and to move it all more easily e.g if moving between two different performance areas in a venue.
Also: Bose S1 Pro (smaller / battery operated)

Location

South East based and will travel to these areas: South East, South West, Midlands, North East, North West, Wales.
