Act Profile

Get on the Floor

'Get on the floor' story:

The band has been together for 6 years. Though specialising in Motown and Soul they are also at home playing many other styles including Rock/Pop/Indie/R'n'b and Funk. The boys met while studying at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford. While at the academy they not only became great friends, but they came to realise as a group they had great musical chemistry and a great sound, and as a result began performing in various venues around the country. Since then they have gone from strength to strength, wowing audiences wherever they roam and not losing a shred of love for what they do.

Charley (Lead Vox) with his huge range and versatility, sounds awesome singing most styles of contemporary music, and the rest of the band are at such a high level they can play pretty much anything if need be, this makes 'Get on the floor' a great option if you are looking for your 1st dance to be played live and for it to sound great.

Alex (Bass) and Joe (Guitar) provide superb backing vocals, and this adds to the groups rich, authentic sound.

Having performed all over Britain, and with an unexplainable energy, sound and performance capability, one would find it near impossible to find an act more capable of a night to remember that 'Get on the floor'.
So what are you waiting for !?

Testimonials

Dear Get on the Floor,

I'd heard you once before, however my now husband hadn't and he was slightly sceptical as he is very very up on his bands and music!

You guys totally surpassed our expectations, our first dance was incredible, better than we could've imagined!

Charley you have an awesome voice and every song you played filled the dance floor and everyone kept saying how amazing you were! One thing that amazed me was how professional you were, I didn't worry about anything, everything was just sorted and that was great to have that peace of mind!

I would highly recommend charley and Get on the Floor to anyone planning on an event where you want everyone having a great time and dancing the night away! I will be in touch regarding my Mumís 40th birthday party! You guys deserve to be very busy!

Thanks for making our day so special!

Get on the Floor really made our charity event.

They were ready to rock and roll at 11.00am and our staff went crazy when they launched into their first number!!

Everyone was on their feet "rocking out" and raising funds for the Wallace & Gromit's Children's Foundation.

The boys are extremely talented and we would not hesitate in asking them to entertain us again in the future.

A huge thank you to Joe, Charley, Alex and Rob.

Dear Get on the Floor

Thank you so much for the fantastic job you guys did on Sunday night for Anna's 39th- you were AWESOME!

We had such a laugh (as you may have noticed!) and all our friends had a great time. Many people commented on how good the band was, so you were definitely a major highlight of the evening, and you made it so much easier for us to be hosts to our friends.

Hope you managed to enjoy yourselves too and you might even get some repeat business, judging by the number of business cards that were taken away!

Best Regards

Peter (Anna's husband)

(P.S. I'm still strutting around the house like a goon singing 'Superstition' to myself!!)

Thanks to every member of Get on the Floor for being the icing on the cake at our wedding celebration. The actual cake wobbled, lost a tier and almost collapsed. The same cannot be said of Get on the Floor who arrived as planned, set themselves up unnoticed, acted like real professionals and played with such passion you would have thought they were close friends or family, rather than strangers.

They came recommended from a friend and a relative and we're happy to add ourselves to the list. If you wince at the thought of a cover band, don't, because this lot play with their own spirit. You won't be listening to a version of a much-loved song, wishing you could just hear the original. You will hear the song as if for the first time. And you will dance. Anyone who doesn't feel compelled onto the floor is either nailed to their chair or dead.

When we booked Get on the Floor, we wanted to be sure our party had just that. And we got it. The effect was instant, with everyone, from 7 to 70 year olds acting like their drinks had been spiked. We didn't want them to stop. The band's repertoire contains some of the best popular songs ever written and they'll take on some of your own additions - and each one is performed by what can only be described as a class act. If your budget allows, have the full 7-piece. If your budget doesn't allow, rob a bank.

Hi Charley

Apologies for taking so long to do this, but the 3 of us would like to thank you again for how well you & the boys played at our 121st birthday party. We were a little apprehensive at first, wondering how well you would go down with such a mixed age range. We needn't have worried, you stormed the place! As you may have noticed, you filled the dance floor for both sets.

You really made the night a huge success & we've had loads of positive feedback since. Hopefully that'll turn into some more business for you - one or 2 people have said that they're now looking for excuses to throw a party so that they can book you!!

Once again, sincere thanks from Sally, Jess & me...

Regards

Mike

Just to say thanks again to you and the guys for helping to make our wedding day absolutely perfect! You sounded awesome - we've had so many comments since on how good the music was (and have passed on your number to a couple of people too so hope something comes of that for you). Was amazing to have people on the dancefloor literally ALL night, and I really appreciated all your help and general calm beforehand! Felt we were in safe hands from start to finish - you are absolute stars :)

All the best in everything you're doing, oh and feel free to use any of this as a reference or for your website or whatever!
