Act Profile

Mambo Cocktail

Please welcome Mambo Cocktail - a sophisticated, easy listening lounge band with an element of kitsch. Inspired by the idea of playing music that consisted entirely of quirky reworked covers, Mambo Cocktail is the brainchild of Kiwi tenor saxophonist and flautist Greg Heath.

Accompanied by Chantelle Duncan on vocals and an array of some of London's best musicians, Mambo Cocktail bring a dark sultriness to their arrangements of some of today's best known songs.Expect a haunting Gotye cover, a Roxy Music bossa nova and the revival of some loved but forgotten lounge music.

A modern take on the Cocktail / Lounge genre of the 50s and 60s and infused with elements of Jazz, Latin and Exotica, come and hear this percussion driven band injecting some of your favourite contemporary pop songs with their own curious concoctions - some sweet, some bitter - and all served with a twist.
