Act Profile

The Intrepid Funksters

Intrepid quintet (or quartet!) of jazz funksters who have been regulars on the vibrant Soho and Brixton jazz scenes since 2010. Expect anything from the classic 50s Blue Note sound to 70s space funk - spiced up with a dash of 90s acid jazz and Brazilian disco! The Funksters have the chameleon-like ability to tailor their sound to very different venues and audiences - they are equally at home in a classy restaurant, busy pub or crowded nightclub.

This quintet of highly experienced professional musicians provide top quality musicianship for jazz connoisseurs, mixed with exciting rhythms for those who just want to get their groove on. Guaranteed to lift any occasion!

A great band that had the crowd up and dancing and moving all night. perfect mix of music to suit all tastes - would definitely book them again.

The Intrepid Funksters played a networking dinner for us recently and did a brilliant job. We left the song selection up to them and they chose great music which kept the crowd buzzing all night.

We recently had The Intrepid Funksters play at our wedding and we were very pleased with them indeed. They have a very good blend of being very professional whilst at the same time being very approachable and flexible.

First and foremost, their music was excellent. Very funky and tight, it succeeded in being both dancefloor music for those who felt energetic and also background music for the evening.

Their demeanour on site was professional and they integrated with the event very well, without any fuss or difficulty.

In addition, communication with them prior to the wedding was excellent. I spoke to them numerous times by both email and telephone and not only did they *not* make me feel as if I was contacting them too much, they also very effectively quoshed any worries I had (which were numerous!).

The combination of a notably successful and enjoyable performance with excellent 'customer care' (if that's the right phrase!) make this band a winner in my view.

I would definitely consider booking them again (...although I don't intend to get married again any time soon!!).
