Act Profile

The Jams

The Jams has acquired an excellent reputation as a professional outfit that never disappoints. Established in 2007 the London based band has extensive performance experience having played throughout the UK in venues ranging from nightclubs and restaurants to hotels and marquees. With a 120 strong repertoire they cover a wide variety of genres to suit all ages and tastes.

The Jams are made up of some of the best session musicians in the UK and have played for artists such as Natasha Hamilton, Mick Hucknall, Simon Webbe, Hurts, Olly Murs, Craig David, Vanessa Mae, Natasha Bedingfield, Spandau Ballet, Lily Allen, The Drifters, Calvin Harris, Tinchy Stryder and Sandi Thom. They have also played at venues/festivals such as The Royal Albert Hall, Wembley Arena, The o2, Shepherds Bush Empire, Hammersmith Apollo, Union Chapel, Glastonbury, V Festival and T in the park.

The Jams take pride in putting on a fantastic show for you and your guests and are the perfect choice for your wedding, corporate party or any other function that requires a live band.

Act Information

Line-up

The Jams are basically a 4-piece, but the wider group consists of seven musicians: James (Lead Vocals/Guitar/Band Leader), Pete (Keyboards), Jack (Bass) Karl (Drums), Mike (Guitar), Sam (Vocals), Scarlet (Vocals).

Extra Line-up(s)

The Jams work with numerous different musicians. All of them are professional and outstanding talents. The Jams can extend to have brass players, backing vocalists, a percussionist, an additional guitarist, a female lead vocalist to accompany James Harrison etc. Obviously the larger band provides a bigger sound and is visually more impressive.

We would always recommend the 4-piece as a solid package but we are able to perform as a 3-piece (guitar & vocals/bass/drums) and have done so on many occasions. Additionally, if your event requires a more relaxed atmosphere we can provide an excellent duo service (vocals/guitar & keys). Finally, James Harrison can perform as a solo act with his acoustic guitar and if you would like a more ‘up-beat’ solo performance he is able to ‘loop’ (or record) himself live.

The full 7-piece band is an exceptional line-up & if you really wanted to impress your guests why not add on a 3-piece brass section.

Also included

The Jams provide all sound and lighting equipment if required. The main P.A is a high standard 1.5kw RCF system (2x 400 watt tops and 1x700 watt sub), which caters for most venue sizes (up to 500 capacity). We also have professional LED stage lighting and dance floor lighting.

Location

South East based and will travel to these areas: South East, South West, Midlands, Wales.

Testimonials

Absolutely brilliant from start to finish! To have one of my favourite songs ( Pogues love you 'till the end) sang live as our first dance song was incredible! We really appreciated James learning this song for us :) The atmosphere was excellent, everybody was dancing and having a great time which is exactly what we wanted! Would highly recommend this band for a unique touch to your wedding day!

The Jams - James and the Band. Thank you so much. Your two sets at our wedding celebrations went down an absolute storm with our guests. The shouts for 'More' from a packed dance floor when you had finished tells you everything! You played tracks everyone loves and made them your own in a way that only made them better.
You played our first dance perfectly, a song you hadn't covered prior to our request only a couple of weeks before the wedding. Also, in the run up to the wedding you were calm, informative and helpful. Which at a time when everything seems crazy is most welcome!
Andrew and I cannot thank you enough, your live music made a beautiful day end perfectly, with friends and family who were previously strangers dancing and laughing together. Just brilliant. Best Wishes.

Mr & Mrs Ashworth 20th July 2013

We booked The Jams for our end of year university event. They were great to work with and our students loved the act, even requesting more at the end. Great repertoire, talented singers and a friendly and professional group. I have no hesitation in passing on their details to our future event planners.

The Jams just want to say a big thanks for the amazing set on Saturday night. You kept us dancing all night long. James you did a great job of putting my parents (who's 60th birthday we were celebrating) at the center of attention - keep up the good work and i'll look you up next time I need a band.

Lee Comerford 25th May 2013

I booked The Jams for my husbands 50th birthday party & can honestly say they were fantastic! We had quite a varied age range at the party, but despite that the band got everyone up on their feet playing classic and more modern songs. This was my little treat for my husband, as I know he loves live musiche was very impressed! The band looked and sounded very professional, were on time and were very friendly. Would fully recommend these guys!

Katie (Oxford March 2013)

Wow, what can we say?! We had The Jams as our wedding band and can honestly say they were amazing! Our guests were truly speechless as to just how good these guys were! All night and for days after all we heard was .... "Who the hell was that band and where do we book them?". It really is not an exaggeration to say that you made our wedding day that little bit more special. Thanks James for a night we won't forget in a hurry!

You were great. The band was everything we expected, you were very professional and reliable. We were grateful for you setting up in the day as requested and arriving to play on time as this was important to us for various reasons. It is obvious that you are all talented individual musicians and clearly a cut above the usual wedding band. Many of our guests have commented how good you were too. I would have no hesitation in booking you again or recommending you to friends.

Thanks again. Tim & Fiona 22ndSept 2012

The Jams were booked for my daughters wedding which was held in a country house in Shropshire. From the moment they struck the first chord the entire room got up to dance, in fact almost everyone danced to every song throughout the night. It was fantastic and the atmosphere became electric. People who had never met each other before were rocking and rolling to his superb music which finished with the grooms impromptu rendition of Mustang Sally which raised the roof. They made the evening!

Sarah Green (Cheshire October 2012)

We hired The Jams for our wedding & can say without doubt that they made our evening. These guys are extremely talented & are great fun! Thank you so much.
