Act Profile

The Tamla Motown Sound

So what was the Motown Sound?... Great melodies, lots of tambourines and hand clapping, blaring horns, interplay between the lead singer and his or her backup vocalists, driving bass lines and foot-slapping drum parts.
The sheer number of chart-topping artists, musicians, and groups produced by Motown defied comprehension: Martha and the Vandellas, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, The Temptations, The Four Tops, Diana Ross and the Supremes, Gladys Knight and the Pips, The Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye. All became part of what would come to be known as the Motown Sound.

`The Tamla Motown Sound` will take you back to those days with authentically recreated sounds and costumes. Everything you hear is played and sung by musicians and vocalists on the night....NO BACKING TRACKS!!
With a very high quality sound system and lighting, `The Tamla Motown Sound` will put on a lively show that everyone who ever listened to Motown will enjoy from the first song to the last!!

Testimonials

"Joe and the team
Just wanted to send a quick email to say Many Thanks for being so fabulous on New years eve. There was some excellent feedback on the night both from staff and guests. We were all impressed with the quality, professionalism and energy of The Catch.
All the best for 2009 and thank you again"

Amy Scott, Deputy Leisure Services Manager, Whinfell Forest - Center Parcs

"I would like to pass on a huge thank you on behalf of my fellow staff members.

The band was fantastic and comments like “they are the best we have had” and “Fantastic entertainment” are just snapshots of the very positive feedback I have had.

To say they made the night is and understatement.

Thank you again. I will certainly be recommending them to other messes.."

I'm writing on behalf of the Jubilee Ball commitee to thank you for the fantastic evening of entertainment you provided last Friday night. The committee (who are pretty hard to please) agreed that it was one of the best bands they had ever heard and the comments from the other parents who attended have without exception been extremely complimentary"
