Act Profile

The West Acoustic Co

We are James and Jake, collectively known as The West Acoustic Co., a London-based acoustic duo. Our set consists of thrilling covers of well-known songs, performed lustily on guitar and percussion with harmony vocals; elements we combine to create bombastic, colourful arrangements and a robust sound that belies our stripped-back line-up.
Our history together encompasses our early days growing up by the sea, writing songs about beaches, cliffs and shipwrecks, right through to our current life as professional musicians in the city. Though we have been working together for many years, we are still as passionate as ever about our music, and we believe this comes across in the polish and energy of our act.
We have been performing together as The Sea Kings for over a decade; we actually met and began performing together in school - way back in the late '90s!
We have played at Glastonbury 2013-17, and have provided support for Joan Armatrading, Julie Felix and Chris Wood.
Our repertoire includes romantic ballads, hip-hop standards and rock classics to go with our staple diet of upbeat party hits that get everyone dancing!

Testimonials

"For our wedding we wanted an acoustic band to kick-off the evening reception and someone recommended The West Acoustic Co. They judged the room perfectly, and were a great band to get the whole thing going. We loved their own take on all the popular classics with a couple of catchy folk tunes thrown in for good measure, and for me there was simply an overwhelming sense of 'phew I've booked a great band!'. The perfect accompaniment to any wedding, like tartare sauce to fish and chips."
Ben Holtaway

"Thank goodness for The West Acoustic Company! They stepped in and saved the day for my 40th birthday party after the first band let us down at the last minute. Everyone loved their song choices and were up and dancing straight away. They even played one of my favourite songs - Solsbury Hill!"
Miranda Clarke

"I've had The West Acoustic Co. at my pub several times and they always go down extremely well. For a 2-piece they’ve got a big sound and loads of energy. I look forward to having them back again."
Adam Robinson, landlord of The White Lion
