Act Profile

The Yankee Doodle Dolls

In springtime 1944, 3 New York City broads moved to London, England a year and a half ago as part of the war effort and have been making waves ever since. With their captivating close-harmony singing, charming choreography and comedic banter there is no stopping these gals. They go by the name The Yankee Doodle Dolls who have played main stage at Twinwood Festival, performed at Goodwood Revival, The Victoria & Albert Museum and The Royal International Air Tattoo to name a few. In addition to this, the Doodle Dolls have performed on BBC radio and have been featured in the London Evening Standard following successful Christmas performances at London’s Waterloo Station.

The Yankee Doodle Dolls are made up of Lois ‘Legs’ Laurelle, Dolores DeMoochy and Minnie Maloney. Engaged to their agent Mickey Maloney, Lois is a born optimist and natural flirt, this curvaceous songbird will put a smile on anyone’s face. She's a real doozy! Dolores hails from the Bronx and is one feisty gal. As well as an on/off dalliance with Cary Grant Dolores is a gifted tap dancer. Last but not least, with ambitions to be a pilot one day Minnie (sister of Mickey) can regularly be seen propping up the bar doing shots with the barman between sets. Who needs the Andrews Sisters when the Yankee Doodle Dolls are in town?

Testimonials

“We hired the Yankee Doodle Dolls for an early Christmas party and the girls brought their exceptional talent, wit and glamour to the stage in full force. They were fantastic at getting the audience involved and everyone up on their feet and dancing and really added atmosphere, energy and fun to the event. They are also a pleasure to deal with and extremely professional, punctual and organised which is ideal when planning a corporate event. I would highly recommend them if you are looking for an act that’s stylish and a little bit different!”

We booked this band for my daughter's 16th birthday party and they were an instant hit with all our guests; from our youngest (7 months) to our oldest (73 years), they stole our hearts with their talented vocals and witter banter. We would recommend this band unreservedly and will go out of way to make sure we see them again."

"We booked the Yankee Doodle Dolls to perform as part of our 5 day Summer Market Spectacular which was themed around VE Celebrations and the 1940's. We were absolutely thrilled at their performance and it's the first time Darlington has seen such a fantastic trio. The costumes, hair and makeup were fab and the girls were bouncing with energy even though the weather let us down a little. Everybody had a great time and the Mayor was suitably impressed.
