Alex Kennedy - Guitar and Voice

Alex is one of the rare guitarists/singers who can dip in and out of so many different musical styles. Much more than your average singer/guitarist, he also has a vast repertoire of solo guitar pieces from Classical to Latin and Jazz. Just look at the repertoire list on the right to get an idea of how wide his scope is.

Alex prides himself on offering entertainment that is tailored for your needs; whether it's solo Classical guitar in the background, jazz guitar at a dinner party or singing some classic songs for a wedding, his playing covers so much ground to help shape any event.

After graduating with a BA in Music Performance in 2007, Alex has since spent two years touring the world as a solo artist and as part of an orchestra aboard a 5 star cruise line. Currently living in Surrey, he now works as a professional session musician, teacher and an accomplished solo artist, performing in a number of 5 star hotels in and around London.

Alex has played recent events at the Savoy Hotel and was booked in 2014 for a run of shows at Gatwick airport.

Alex was terrific and set a both a relaxing and joyful mood for my Mum and Dad's wedding anniversary celebrations. He's a fabulous musician with a great voice and a wide repertoire who I would book again without hesitation. He's a terrific guy as well!

It was just right for the occasion, familiar to everybody, the volume loud enough for it to be enjoyed but not too loud to make conversation difficult. Alex played classical guitar and also pop music at our 20th wedding anniversary party at the Savoy Hotel. He was very good - it was so nice that he could play both classical and pop. "From January 2008 to May 2008, I was Alex Kennedy's Band Leader in the HAL Cats on Holland American's Ms Westerdam. For those 5 months, Alex was such a great asset to the group.

He is a strong reader (comfortable with all genres of music), a great jazz improviser, and a solid team player. There were several times when the band needed a leader and he would step into the position. He was also very comfortable singing backing vocals with the lead singer, as well as singing songs on his own. Alex was very prompt with arriving on time, prepared, well dressed and always maintained a very positive attitude. We had many guest entertainers to accompany and Alex prepared his music before the rehearsal and played great shows. Overall, I believe he will be a strong asset to any company or any event.
