Act Profile

Big Button Boys

Speak Easy, Play Hard.
Vintage reprobates and genre alchemists, the BBBs fire heady concoctions of punk, pop, rock and swing, steaming into the 21st century.
Lord Acton and his band of virtuosos take the popular songs of today, and dress them up in the snazzy rags of the jazz era. Mötorhead, Beyoncé, Swift and Sheeran, injected with a hefty dose of swing and savoir faire.
From Glastonbury to the Palace of Westminster, they’ve set the stage on fire with boundless energy and brazen bon humour. From pub gigs to arenas, weddings to wakes, the BBBs have done it in style.

Testimonials

Also, just wanted to say thank you to you and rick for helping me with the band. They were awesome! Everyone loved them.
And I also wanted to say thank you to the band myself as well. They were so fun and made the evening really memorable. Each song sounded so unique!

-Bryony Holdsworth Oct 2019

Yes both acts were fantastic, perfectly fitted the bill and went down a storm with the delegates. They were all very easy to work with and were very accommodating of the tight timings!

-Paul Crawford Project Manager Fresh Approach

I just wanted to say how great the band were on Saturday.

They were so professional, played some great songs and really worked well with the guests.

Gemma re: Club Wembley for the FA Cup Final

Awesome! Saw you at The Fountain Barnoldswick last night. Really love your style. Have you got an album?

-Diane Park

Fantastic reports back from the clients. Well done guys.

"Listen, the "ironic swing-jazz covers of pop songs" thing has been done. A lot. But rarely as ably as this UK quintet do on new covers album On Fire. On the first listen, you’ll chuckle hearing Bruno Mars and Nirvana lyrics twisted so. But after that, you’ll just enjoy the music." Ray Pagett. Covermesongs.com

"The BBBs stand out amongst a number of bands who re-imagine contemporary pop music in a jazz idiom; many try, but few achieve it with the charm, aplomb, humour and outstanding musicianship of the BBBs. They have returned three years running to play packed club gigs at Marsden Jazz Festival and their sartorial style and laconic wit are a huge hit with a broad spectrum of music fans, including those who are not hardcore jazzers."
Barney Stephenson, Marsden Jazz Festival.

"A gateway drug to jazz."

Thanks again,
Stefanie, agency.

Hey just a quick line to say that the boys were awesome on Saturday and all of our guests remarked on how great they were. It’s a shame that you yourself were not there, but the deputy singer was class. Well done, Sheikhs, you do great work!

We first saw Brian and his band play at a friends wedding and booked them for ours the very next day. They were the icing on the cake for our wedding day and everyone enjoyed the music and danced all night. The flexibility of their music and talent is fantastic. I can't wait to host another party and book them again. Cheers guys.

Thanks again for playing at our wedding! Was such an amazing night. All of the guests were so happy with the music and said you guys were awesome! It was such great music to dance to! Also thanks for the way you handled the drunk man wanting to sing Frank Sinatra situation haha! You handled it very well and professionally. And thanks for letting my Dad join in and sing with you guys. We had a blast and wish we could do it all again! :)
