Dynamo Groove

The band has been together since Jan 09 and between them have more than 50 years of performing experience, playing pop, rock, jazz, funk and everything in between. Performing all time favourites from the 50's right up to the latest smash hits, Dynamo Groove is sure to go down well on any occasion.

The dynamic duo of Rachael and Jonathon (both experienced vocalists) fronting the band gives them a definite edge on the competition. Being one of the most musically diverse bands on the UK function band circuit, their extensive repertoire allows them to tailor their performance to suit any prospective audience. Our individual profiles are as follows

Rachael (vocals)

Rachael completed her studies at The Institute of Contemporary Music in 2006, receiving the prestigious 'Vocalist of the year' award. Since then she has worked extensively within the music industry, both as a performer and recording artist. She has also fronted professional cover bands across the UK. Rachael's career has included projects with the likes of dancer/producer Ricko Baird (Michael Jackson, Christina Aguilera, Maya etc), and ambient dance legend Tom Middleton. Rachael is an experienced deep house/funky house DJ, and has also professionally trained in dance, drama and fashion.

Jonathon (piano/guitar/vocals)

Jonathon studied piano and arrangement with classical composer Peter Wildman for over 10 years, and now sings with the renowned Philharmonia Chorus. His credits include providing piano music for the 2008 Channel 4 Taste Icon awards, and several contributions to rap artist 43's self-titled 2008 mix tape (which sold over 12,000 copies).

Patrick (bass)

Patrick studied bass guitar at the Academy of Contemporary Music, graduating in 2006. Since then he has played functions and weddings across the UK, several P&O cruises, sessions for legendary '80s soul singer Alexander O'Neal, and live work for chart topping producer Andy Whitmore (Elton John, Diana Ross, Lemar, Peter Andre).

Dan (drums/backing vocals)

Dan studied jazz percussion at the Western Australian Conservatorium of Music before embarking on his professional career, which has included over 1,000 gigs, international tours, TV and Radio work, and hundreds of recording sessions, both as a drummer and a producer. Artists Dan has worked with include major UK rock act Ten Benson (The Darkness tour support), members of Jamiroquai and Hawkwind, and top producer Cameron Blackwood (Madness, Morrisey).

Sten (guitar)

Sten began learning the guitar at the age of ten, under the tutalige of jazz icon Paride Canestraro. Sten graduated from France's premier contemporary music college, the Music Academy International, in 2000, and has since performed with major French artists such as Jean-Jacques Goldman and Didier Lockwood. Sten has been living in London since 2004, playing with many function bands, tribute bands, and original projects.
