Powder Jazz

Powder Jazz has been together for 8 years and have played innumerable gigs around the country and abroad.

As well as covering songs from the pop and rock repertoire, Powder play the best songs from the classic period of American swing; Sinatra, King Cole, Fitzgerald, Armstrong are all influences. They are happy to provide mellow background music as a duo for a reception or dinner, and happy to swing with a full band at the party.
Although the band listed is the typical line-up, any number of musicians can be combined to cater for various tastes and requirements.
The band will typically play as a trio for small events or expand the line up to a four piece or five piece for bigger shows.
Powder have played events for many celebrity and corporate clients including Gordon Brown and Tony Blair, at a Wembley Stadium sporting event which was attended by most of the UK Olympic athletic team and many UK sporting legends , The Football Association annual dinner in Portugal, Mary Kay , Marks and Spencer's , The Trafford Centre and many more. In 2013 Powder were chosen to play at a Vogue catwalk show.

Powder have a selection of modern party tracks for dancing. They also have a set of pop songs played in a swing style.
Powder can be booked as Pop Up Musicians and as a Swingaoke Band.

In April 2014 Powder ( as The Big Button Boys )were booked for the FA cup semi final in the hospitality suite at Wembley Stadium. This was the Arsenal VS Wigan game. It went so well that they were booked for the FA Cup final between Arsenal and Hull at Wembley and that's despite them not being footie fans!

In March 2015 Powder were chosen by William Hill to represent them at the Cheltenham Gold Cup Races.

Powder Jazz played for my wife's birthday party on Saturday and were just superb. Their relaxed laid back manner belies their well-honed professionalism. They moved seamlessly from mellow jazz through dinner to some swing and pop music that had everyone on their feet. No mean achievement at our age.Thanks again guys.

I suggested my pal book a band from Live Music Management when he was let down by a band he had booked direct for a Xmas show. LMM suggested Powder Jazz and I got they went down fantastically well at my mates corporate event. I DJ for LMM so know they only use quality acts but it was nice to know they could help out a friend with a top quality band at short notice.
