Shades and Mowhawk

Shades and Mohawk are two friends who met whilst busking the streets of Bath as solo artists. They formed several years ago and have astounded people with their all-guitar, acoustic blend of classical and rock. They are perfect both for the classical and the hard-rock specialist. Shades and Mohawk will entertain you with songs from their eclectic back catalogue spanning a vast stylistic spectrum. From 70's pop hits, to gypsy jazz, to operatic overtures, their set truly defies classification.

Mikhail Asanovic is a classically trained guitarist, having recently completed his master's degree at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. This classical foundation shines through in the duo's set with embellished vocal melodies soaring over the energetic rhythm parts, merged with tunes by many of the great composers which also find their way in, weaved into the fabric of their pieces in various disguises. This classical style pitched against the more abrasive, rhythmic paroxysms characterized in Jake Wright's playing compliment each other in this seemingly incongruous partnership to create one unified sound, and breathe new life into many of the covers that they perform.

If you're looking for something a little different from the norm, Shades and Mohawk are the perfect choice. Perfectly suited for wedding reception music, corporate entertainment and drinks receptions, they will undoubtedly have your guests smiling from ear to ear!
