Shakeout

Performing together for over 11 years, Shakeout have developed an act that is simply unbeatable. We believe the recordings do all the talking for how good these musicians really are!

Shakeout feature three of the UK’s top session players. Alex has played guitar in the pit on West End shows and with major acts like Fleetwood Bac (who recently headlined at Bestival with Sir Elton John.)

When forming the band, the main aim was to create a high energy act with a wide repertoire across styles and genres that could liven up any event. Shakeout never fail to create a great atmosphere and have certainly lived up to their name.

All three musicians are well accomplished in their own rights and have a wealth of National and International experience that shines through during performances. Most importantly, Shakeout are highly professional and 100% reliable in every way and always work towards giving you the best show possible for the occasion.

Shakeout have an electronic drum kit which they can use upon request. This enables the band to control the sound levels and play at a quieter volume than bands with an acoustic drum kit.

Shakeout can also be booked as a Rockaoke aka Bandeoke band and are one of the most accomplished live karaoke bands in the UK. They can also offer a unique live band pop quiz called Beat The Band which is a fun, interactive pop quiz featuring a live band. They have played over a hundred shows with this act in the last couple of years and it has proved a popular choice for holiday parks and corporate parties.

We had Shakeout for our wedding reception. We originally had another band booked but COVID got in the way of that. However we think that this may have been in our favour. From the moment of booking them they were attentive to our needs and wants and were phoning us within hours to find out any requests. When it came to the evening of the wedding they were all extremely friendly and put us at ease, especially as we hadn’t heard them live yet. They were punctual when arriving but unfortunately we were running a little behind schedule however they didn’t make us feel rushed. When they started playing they were amazing. They played a range of songs and had all our guests up dancing throughout the night. They were great at working out the styles of music that suited the range of guests who were up on the dance floor at that moment. The DJ music between the sets was good and fulfilled requests both during the DJ music and when playing live. They kept their DJ music going until late and left it until the last moment to switch that off which kept the dancing going. Overall we couldn’t have asked for more and would highly recommend that you book them for any event that you want your guests to have a good time. If my wife had her way we’d do it all again in a months time and would book this band from the start, perhaps for our 10 year anniversary. Thank you for making our day so special. Thank you Shakeout for making my husband's 50th excellent! Everyone loved you and every song on the money! Not sure about playing mustang Sally and saying 'this is for you Sally'.. I then dance with Nick they all watched... We just made it up and it was so funny.. Lots of footage just made for an impromptu real laugh thank you!! Shakeout were an absolutely perfect band for our wedding day - Will was a pleasure to deal with on the run up to the day and was able to incorporate our first dance request swiftly, as well as making helpful suggestions for how we might like to put the set list together. They were perfect, as we didn't want the band to be 'themed', but we did want a few oldies - they played a set of 50's and 60's classics and a set of 80's and more modern dance tunes, and were totally in tune with the guests and what would be fun to dance to, while operating a bespoke playlist we put together on spotify between sets. They were polite, punctual and talented, and seemed totally invested in our day as a special occasion. We would recommend them to anyone keen for a wide ranging set list, great musicianship, and command of a crowd. Thanks again.

Shakeout were absolutely amazing at my wedding on 19/11/16.
They performed our first dance which was just awesome and played a large repertoire catering for pretty much all music tastes.
All the guests commented on how great the band were and how much they enjoyed the music, there was much dancing.

Alex and the Band played at my Husbands 50th party on Saturday night. The playlist was tight and seamlessly performed. They learnt a couple of very tricky ELO tunes which we had requested and they were Ggggreat! They even learned some more Green Day for me (they do all styles of music, don't let Green Day put you off) which was great. We just wanted to write to say a huge thank you for Saturday. Sadly Punam and I were so busy being whisked away for photos that we didn't have as much time as we would have liked to stop and listen to you but what we did hear was fantastic. More importantly though all of our guests have commented on just how brilliant you were-apparently people kept thinking that it was a cd being played you were that good. I also heard from someone that you re-tuned your guitar just so that you could play their request! People also commented on your sense of humour (apparently the Simpsons theme tune made it in somewhere!) and how much you seemed to enjoy what you were doing which in turn made everyone else enjoy it. Punam and I were trying to think of the next thing we could do to get you to play at so that we could actually sit and watch you this time!

Anyway, a huge thanks once again-you were fantastic and really added a lot to the day. We would have no hesitations in recommending you.
