Sinopia Vocals

Sinopia is a London based female trio that specialises in a range of repertoire to suit any event. The singers combine their passion for classical singing with beautifully crafted arrangements of popular songs and can draw on their varied repertoire to put together a programme specific to your needs.

The founding members met as young teens in the world famous Cantamus Girls Choir and after studying for their music degrees at separate institutions throughout the UK, they decided to join forces and form Sinopia.

The group is based in London and perform nationwide regularly as a trio but have a pool of singers in order to cater for all occasions.

In case you were wondering how the group came up with their name, Sinopia is a reddish brown pigment, much like the colour of the members' hair. Sinop is also the name of a town on the coast of the Black Sea which was founded by the Amazonian women.

Line-up

Sinopia's core members are Marianne Wright (soprano), Kirsten Barker (soprano) and Phillipa Thomas (mezzo-soprano).

For events needing more voices, Sinopia draws from a pool of professional singers which include:

Marianne (soprano), Kirsten (soprano), Lindsey (soprano),
Phillipa (mezzo-soprano), Laura (mezzo-soprano), Clara (contralto) and Amelia (contralto).

If you haven't already seen Sinopia then I strongly suggest you do. You certainly wont be disappointed! The girls display both elegance and vocal competence as a trio and also in their individual solo performances. Not to be missed!

I had the pleasure to see and listen to a performance of Sinopia at The Crossing in Worksop. The group consisted of three young talented women who showed a wide reportoire consisting of classical opera, music theatre and pop-music.
It was a magical night and I am very lucky to have heard Sinopia sing!
