The Ceilidh Band

The Ceilidh band are wedding entertainment specialists but are highly experienced with all types of events from corporate or charity functions to birthdays and student nights. Whatever the event they're the perfect party band for you!

Their 12 years experience in providing quality music and expert Calling is what gets them asked back for repeat bookings with prestigious clients such as Sting, BBC, Herbert Smith, Vinopolis and Bijou Weddings… and what's made them renowned as the top London Ceilidh band!

They're best known as a Scottish Ceilidh band but regularly transform into an Irish Ceili band, English Barn Dance band or American Hoedown band. They've even been known to perform Reeling Balls and Scottish Country Dancing nights as well!

Their unique combination of traditional tunes & ceilidh dances with a modern, funky rhythm appeals to everyone and their accomplished, professional musicians provide the right level of sophistication and high energy entertainment to any event.

Line-up

The standard 5-piece line up of Caller+Fiddle, Fiddle, Guitar/Keys, Bass and Drums combines the dynamic fiddle styles of a traditional ceilidh band with the modern, funky rhythm section of a function band.

They regularly play as a 6 or 7-piece as well and offer line-upÂ’s to the size of a 10-piece bandÂ… You can augment your line-up to create the band youÂ’re looking for - choosing from an array of traditional instruments (flute, pipes, accordion, whistles, etc) and more contemporary additions

Extra Line-up(s)

They can also provide a number of optional extras, lessening the stress of organising an event by booking with just one supplier: The most popular is their after ceilidh DISCO - cheaper than booking a separate DJ!

Or they can transform into another format for live background music before your ceilidh – from a Solo musician (Piper, Flautist, Jazz Pianist, Classical Guitarist, Violinist etc) to a Classical quartet or Jazz Trio, Celtic / Jazz Duo's (fiddle+guitar / flute+piano / fiddle+fiddle / Piano and Double Bass etc.) and many more…

They have an array of multi talented musicians at their disposal so just let them know what they are looking for!

Also included

We have a full top of the range PA with LED Lighting to light the band & a 2 disco lights for the dance floor. Additional up lighters for the room can be hired from us for an additional fee.

Dear Ali and band, Chris and I wanted to say a big thank you for the fantastic ceilidh you performed at our wedding at Bartholomew Barn on 8th August. The music was super and the caller was so patient with us! We have been to a few weddings with a ceilidh but we must say you guys were the best we have listened and danced too. We have had many people saying how much they enjoyed it, the dance floor was full pretty much the whole evening with all ages enjoying themselves including my 4 year old god daughter! "Hi Ali, I’m sorry that it’s taken me a wee while to get in touch following our wedding on 2nd August at Barnsley House. I’m sure you’ll appreciate that it’s been a bit of a whirlwind since our wedding but we’ve now returned to normal life after a fabulous break to Italy and I thought I’d write to pass on our immense thanks to the band. We have so many happy memories of the day but the ceilidh certainly shines out as a highlight and that is very much down to the band and in particular Francesca for being so enthusiastic despite the small size of the room! Indeed I can’t fault the band at all – everything was just perfect. The band’s attention to detail and professionalism was spot on and fitted in perfectly with our day. Thank you so much for making our day so special. It was particularly pleasing to see so many of my family and friends enjoying a dance – especially those who have never been to a ceilidh before!!! I hope that the band equally enjoyed the (slightly crazy) crowd? And it was a great surprise to see the band took a picture in the photobooth – what a great pic!!!!
