The Groovetones

Huw and Roberto have been playing together as a soul / jazz / latin duo around London for many years, at top venues like Cocochan, Navajo Joes and Experimental Cocktail Club, as well as playing many weddings, private parties and corporate gigs. They are consummate professionals who guarantee every aspect of their performance will be top notch.

Saxman Roberto is a legendary session musician whose stellar career has seen him share the stage with musical giants like Incognito, Donna Summer and the one and only Mr James Brown! Jazzwsise say that 'he has to be heard to be believed', and Time Out have called him 'scorching': Roberto is widely regarded as one of the finest sax players currently working in the UK.

Guitarist and singer Huw works as a resident musician in top London venues like Dogstar, China White, Trafalgar Sq Hilton, the Conrad, Gaucho, Hix Oysterbar, Oxo Tower and many more. He has played for celebrities like Seb Coe, Take That and Jose Mourinho and corporate clients like Audi, Virgin and Microsoft. He is also a songwriter whose original music has been played on stations like the Jazz and Choice FM, and praised as 'future classics'.

If the client wants music for dancing, we strongly recommend adding at least percussion [congas], or preferably a rhythm section [bass and drums] to the band. We also offer a laptop DJ service if they would like us to also 'be the DJ' for the night.

We have a small LED par can lighting rig which is available on request for no extra cost [we do not normally travel with this but can do if required].
