The Winner Stings

"The Winner Stings" are a super-tight, energetic band that specialise in playing the live walk-up stings for awards ceremonies. Everybody has seen the standard awards ceremony where when the winner is announced, some music is faded up at random as they walk to the front of the stage, providing nothing more than some background noise for this flat time. This is not what happens when you hire “The Winner Stings”! They burst into life, with an up-tempo, exciting song just at the right moment, creating a buzz that cannot be reproduced with recorded music. Then, just as seamlessly as they started, they can stop on cue with a tight and dramatic ending, leading perfectly into the next link for the presenter.

The band is available as either a 6-piece lineup or an 8-piece lineup. The 6-piece band has Drum, Bass, Guitar, Keyboards and 2 singers, and the 8-piece band is the same but with a 2-piece horn section as well, giving them even more impact.

The band has it’s roots in playing corporate events and weddings all over the world and have been playing together since 2006. As a result of this, they have a vast repertoire and really know how to entertain a crowd. When it comes to working out what songs you would like as walk-up stings for your event, the band are always happy to help advise on what will work best. There is no style of music that the band cannot play, so it’s just a case of deciding which songs will be most appropriate!

All of the musicians in the band are experienced session and recording artists as well as incredible live performers and the list of artists that they have played with makes impressive reading. They have performed or recorded with: Gloria Gaynor, John Newman, Mumford & Sons, Eliza Doolittle, Sam Bailey, Michael Kiwanuka, The Maccabees, Professor Green, Leona Lewis, Rita Ora, Clean Bandit, The Drifters, Melody Gardot, and have performed live on Strictly Come Dancing and the X-Factor.

Line-up

6-piece:
Drums, Bass, Guitar, Keyboards, Male and Female Vocals.

This flexible lineup is perfect for a small space, or a huge stage!

Extra Line-up(s)

8-piece:
The same as the 6-piece with the addition of Trumpet and Saxophone.

The addition of the horn section gives the band even more punch and energy. Perfect if you want to create big impact at your event.
