Act Profile

Two Man Trio

Two Man Trio are the acoustic guitar covers duo who combine timeless classic tunes with more modern tunes, and a few surprises and remixes along the way. Covering hits from the Beatles, Van Morrison, Bryan Adams, and Rolling Stones all the way to Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz and Pearl Jam.

Over a three hour set, Two Man Trio take the punters from relaxing and sinking a few quiets with the more dulcet tones of the first set, progressing through to a good old fashioned dance with our faster set. This range of music has been designed to follow the natural progression of an evening out and encourage patrons to join us for a boogie on the dance floor taking requests and enjoying a bit of banter!

Two Man Trio consists of Kiwi lads Benjamin , (25) and Owain , (25) and has been a working band for over 6 years. Together they have played over 500 gigs including many pubs, 21st, 50th, weddings and corporate functions.

We are available for your next big date and look forward to giving your gig that something extra!

***Two Man Trio take their work seriously and have full public liability insurance to £2 million, and all equipment is PAT certified regularly. Additionally they have full breakdown cover for their van, insuring they are indemnified and will always make your event.

WEDDINGS:

"We had been recommended Two Man Trio by friends of ours after they had "really made the night" at their engagement do. We met the lads at one of their local gigs and showed us why their reputation was such! Obviously being my big day I wanted to make sure my friends and family could relax and enjoy themselves after the ceremony and these boys made sure that happened. The older folks were tapping along, the younger crowd were up dancing and everyone kept saying the band was fantastic. It gave me a great feeling to make everyone happy and its all testament to the band - I would definitely recommend Two Man Trio for any wedding."

Anna Mulloy, August 2009.

"I hired Two Man Trio for my wedding with a few reservations about having a duo in such a large hall - as soon as the first song was in swing I couldn't have been happier! Such a large sound for just two guys and they had a great array of instruments. The guys handled the crowd well and had us all up and dancing - there was even a congo line at some point (cringe!). I would recommend these lads for anyone who wants a great sound and an even better night. Awesome!"

Kate Walker, April 2010.

BAR GIG:

"At Reef Bar, I only hire top quality covers bands and Duo’s, DJs, and other entertainers. Speak Easy ( Owain Pennington & Ben Hurdley) approached me in early 2008 looking for gigs as a Duo. I liked the look of their set list so I trialed them on a Thursday night.

They played 2 acoustic guitars and Owain provided rhythm with what appears to be a drum set with his feet - I was amazed! Their vocals were awesome, their guitar work was great and they certainly gave our patrons a great night.

Two Man Trio are now my first call when I need a Duo - I recommend Two Man Trio for any venue that wants good quality live entertainment, they will be missed by our business when they travel and I look forward to hiring them again when they return to NZ.

For more information please contact me!

Aaron ‘Lizard’ Calman, Reef Bar."

CHARITY / CORPORATE:

"Two Man Trio got involved with Cure Kids, a charity focused on giving support to children affected by cancer. Giving up their time, instruments and voices, Two Man Trio helped raise over $11,000 NZD for our cause. Playing several gigs, and even being raffled off for a hens night. As a charity organisation, we search for tools to help us bring as much support in as possible and Ben Hurley and Owain Pennington were able to put themselves forward to facilitate that effectively. A great big thanks from all of us here at Cure Kids guys."
