Will Acts Play For Free At My Charity Event?

Live Music Management's acts are professional musicians and DJs who rely upon their performance fee's in order to make a living. We do not have acts that will perform free of charge at a charity event however we do offer discounts for charity fundraisers and dependant upon the date, the act and the charity you are raising funds, for we may be able to offer you significant discounts on the usual fee for a band or DJ. There may be bands and DJs that will play at charity events for free but this will either be because there is an emotional connection with that particular charity or because the band or DJ are not a professional outfit. Obviously the whole point of a charity fundraiser is to make money but if you are selling tickets for an event then the expectation is that the audience need to be entertained by a top quality act and we would advice caution in booking an act just because they offer their services for free.

Can We Book A Celebrity To Appear At Our Charity Event?

In our experience unless a celebrity has a connection with a particular charity it is almost impossible to get a commitment out of them to appear at a charity fundraiser. You can imagine that most well known public figures will be approached almost in a daily basis to make personal appearances at charity events. There is a "professional circuit" which will pay stars for their patronage and support. However if you feel you have a unique niche then your best way forward would be to contact celebrities with a local or personal connection or a background of involvement with your particular field of fundraising.

How Can We Maximise The Amount Of Money Made At Our Charity Event?

Charity events with top quality entertainment are able to command a higher ticket price and will attract more interest. You may find there is more interest in an event with a £1000 Tribute band than there would be for an event with a band that people can see in their local pub. Ideas for fundraising on the night might include. The band or DJ can help with running an auction on the night Send a collection bucket around before the bands encore or in order for the band to play a favourite request (involve the band in this.) Auction an opportunity for someone to get up and sing with the band on the night. Collect money as people exit at the end of the night. Ensure that the band or DJ are aware of the details of the fund raiser and buy into the collecting of money.
