Many individual companies, organisations and industries see their awards evenings as the highlight of the year. A time to award excellence, to recognise achievements and perhaps to network new business opportunities. The expectations of the guests at an award ceremony have been raised by the plethora of awards ceremonies now televised. Even the smallest of organisations will find it is no longer acceptable to put out a tray of sandwiches and get the chairman to hand out the awards with little or no theatre. An awards ceremony should allow the opportunity for an organisation to be the best that it can be and to motivate it's members for the next twelve months. Music for wards ceremonies can be a driving factor in doing this.
Live Music For Awards Ceremonies
Whether you are organising a football presentation or a major blue chip companies annual awards evening then the principle is much the same. A host will be required to announce the awards and the recipient will take to the stage in order to accept the award and, perhaps, say a few words. The walk to and from the stage can take an eternity and this "dead air" can be the part of the awards evening which makes people complain that the evening was dull. The savvy awards ceremony organiser will book a live band to provide the after party music and also to play the awards winners on and off stage. The music that they play will be short snippets of pre agreed songs appropriate for the evening and the personalites attending. In the events industry these are called stabs and they can completely change the nature of the awards being presented (for better or worse depending upon the thought that has gone into them). A guest collecting an award for services to community will not welcome walking on stage to the Kaiser Chiefs "I Predict A Riot" unless for comic effect. An unpopular department head may get laughed at if his walk on music is "We Need A Hero" or "Nelly The Elephant" but the right music played by live musicians is an inspiring and uplifting moment which can raise the audience and focus their attention.
